I took a physics class in high school (1963) that was taught in a very hands on way. I figured out that it was all about formulas. We were allowed to use the book on tests. Never took it home; just turned to the formulas in the back and got a B in the class. Then had to take a class in college, that was easier than the HS class.
Have you seen “Tom Dowd:The Language of Music?” Amazing movie. Out of high school he worked on the Manhattan Project, and when he went to Columbia after the war, they were teaching outdated physics because everything he’d learned was classified. If you haven’t seen it, you must. Coltrane, Ray Charles, Aretha, Allmen Brothers, Cream. Maybe best ever producer/engineer.

You’re fun! Have I shared this with you before?

You have but I was happy to hear it again!
As a companion to this fine essay, I offer a song covering the entire history and future of the universe. https://youtu.be/Z6d-9qDf0p4
In 4 minutes! If only my classes were as well summarized.
Well, that was intense!
Avoiding Venezuelan pirates seems pretty intense! Thanks for reading, Beth.
Thanks for writing! 🥰
Um, when can I buy your science book? "Cooking with the Stars?" You have such a knack for taking big ideas and making them easy to understand.
Thank you! Honestly it’s on my bucket list, and I do feel like I’m creating material for it.
Mind blowing! 🤯 Love it, thanks for posting.
