You made a beautiful emotional argument, but didn't mention G-d, so I'm curious what the connection was. otherwise, it was a beautiful post from a perspective I would like to see more often
Isha, thank you for clarifying. I pulled the title from the text. “There is no positive outcome for the human race, no reasonable God to attribute it to, and no reliable forecast for when it will end.” I scanned until that phrase caught my eye, and I assumed it might catch others’ eyes as well.
You're first few posts had your voice reading them in a playable audio. This one had a lady. I don't really mind though, but it's nice when you can ^_^
Jonathan, this is a moving piece that shows the effects away from front lines. I don’t think outside the services can understand either, but most don’t really think about the former. Thank you for sharing this.
I am wondering why the wearing of red poppies around Remembrance Day, as a remembrance to those who served their country in wartime, is not done in the US as it is in Canada and Britain.
Thank you for your service. What does the title have to do with the content?
That’s a great question. What does the title mean to you? Did it make you feel something?

I just shared this on Facebook. What a powerful, moving meditation on war and service.
Thank you for sharing, Phyllis.
This is deeply moving.
I don’t think we, on the outside, can ever understand but I do agree with your title. Thank you for sharing...
is that you in the first picture JB?
It is. Many years ago.
I missed your voice on it a little, but I understand you can't always do all that editing. Bless you JB
I don’t understand what you mean by missing my voice. Can you say that a different way?

Ah! I get it. Thank you.
Independence is a war
Tell me about that.
Powerful Jonathan. Thank you for sharing and for your service.
Thanks for reading, Dee.
Shared this with a friend--such a thought-provoking contemplation. Thank you for sharing this, and for your service.
Thank you, Julie. Great to see you!

Thanks for reading, Ken.
Well written memories, Jonathan.

Good question. I’d love to know as well.
