I love this essay, Jonathan ❤️. And I especially loved hearing you read it as I read it. My pumpkin pies come (deliciously) from Weaver Street, but I do make a pumpkin pie spiced Christmas cake every year, from my mother's recipe. And your essay makes me want to order my first ever pumpkin spice latte. So thank you!

Thank you, Cynthia. That cake sounds delicious! If the recipe isn’t a state secret, I’d love to make a GF version.

Jonathan: The man who continually gets A's on assignments he gives himself. That's goals for me. I get A's from time to time, sure, but not usually (maybe never) on an assignment I gave myself. [Here I'm talking about both spice drawers and astonishing essays about spice drawers.] Ironically even my spice drawer, which is currently about a B+, is only that way because Jonathan gave me a gentle nudge when he found it in a D- state.
